It has been 16 long years, barring minor version upgrades, that the critically acclaimed Baldur's Gate franchise has gotten a new main title. Yes, Baldur's Gate III is coming, and here's everything we know about it as of now.
Release Date
Currently, no definite release date has been announced, but it is certain that the game will be launched by the end of this year. Watch out for updates in the upcoming months, but don't hold your breath until late 2020.
Platform
Launched where, you ask? Baldur's Gate III will be playable on PC and Google Stadia.

Gameplay
Both single player and multiplayer scenarios will be there, of course, and the game will be based on DnD rules. In particular, the game will be a co-op mode where four players can play in a party at once. The character classes include Fighter, Ranger, Warlock, Rogue, Wizard, Cleric, as announced to be available at early access launch. In the actual game when it comes out, many more options should be added.
Game Developers
It was BioWare who were responsible for producing the first two Baldur's Gate games. But now, the franchise is owned by Larian Studios. The latter are responsible for Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin II. To cut things short, Larian Studios have a pretty darn good rapport, and should for all intents and purposes do a commendable job for Baldur's Gate 3.
A Final Word
Have you seen the trailer? Isn't the brain guy a Mind Flayer from DnD? That thing's rad!

Luckily, I cannot afford hardware for part 3 of the BG saga. Otherwise, their being afraid to stay true to the line is just as pathetic, as attempting to fame-phish `BG – Dark Alliance´ by that supposed remake. They are no longer the original makers, but pseudo-successors not read for the job (beyond programming).
