Most details remain unknown at this point about Baldur’s Gate III, but the release date will be sometime this year, as confirmed by Google.
Baldur's Gate is widely acclaimed as one of the greatest RPGs ever. A long time staple of Google Stadia -- in fact, the third installment was announced at a Studia event -- the game is being developed by Larian Studios.
Alongside Baldur's Gate III, five other games were also recently revealed to be coming. This is news as there has been a long gap of such new reveals.
As for a solid release date, fans may not have to wait long, as Larian Studios recently weighed in about there being some sort of announcement regarding the game on February 27. It is to be noted that Larian Studios and Google have a close relationship, and thus Google wants to be definitive about a date, so as not to repeat the trend of release delays recently.
A peek at Baldur's Gate 3 gameplay
What do we know as of yet about the game? Aside from the broad release date, it is established that Baldur's Gate III will be using current DnD 5e rules. Moreover, from the initial trailer, we know that mind flayers are attacking the city of Baldur's Gate. Aside from these, everything is up in the air. What is for sure, however, is that expectations for the third installment is also in the air -- sky high, if you will -- due to mainstream success in the first two. With the rumor going that the free tier for Stadia is to come soon, one can safely bet for Baldur's Gate III to be another blockbuster.
Again, Baldur's Gate III is to be realeased in Google Stadia within this year. The PC version, while not officially announced, will probably be available in 2020 as well.
